QUICK....LOCK THEM IN!!

Well, there are many more pictures but that's

enough for now...don't ya think!

We had a great time as you can see, what made it

a really really great trip is that they have finally

finished the carpool lanes that go from Santa Clarita

to Pasadena and WOW, that made the trip so

much faster...door to door...3 1/2 hours..not bad!

Just a side note...

This was Mia's 103rd trip to Disneyland,
we first took her when she was 8 months old
and have been back on average every 3 to 5 weeks since.

We watched California Adventure being built

from the ground up and we were there on
September 9th & 10th of 2001
and we went back 2 weeks later..

WERE GOING TO DISNEYLAND:)
What started out as a trip for just me & Mia has turned into a trip for me, Mia & six close friends...we haven't been since March (we were really busy in April)
So tomorrow we will be up at 1:30AM, on the road by 3AM, breakfast at Mimi's at 7:30 AM and in the park when they open at 9:00 AM!

We are DONE!!

We have just finished our first year of
California Virtual Academy!
(the charter school Mia has attended from home for 2nd grade)
Mia has worked very hard this year to prove she has what
it takes to be in & stay in this program and we are very proud of her!
She was up everyday and ready to begin school at 7:30 am....
sometimes in PJ's, but always ready
and amazingly she had perfect attendance!!!!
We are going out to dinner to celebrate and then we get to sleep in tomorrow!!

In the Garden
another one of my favorite places
We got up at 6:00 am this past weekend to work in the yard before it got hot...
we cleaned up the flower beds, repaired a few sprinklers & had to
re-pot several plants on the patio.
Can you find the hidden Mickey?

now were ready for summer!
We can wave to the pilots landing at the sky park:)
Here's Puggy hiding under a chair, hoping I won't put her in the pool...again.

2 days left of school!!!!!
Disneyland in 2 weeks!!!!!
Summer is here!!!!!!
Time to sleep in!!
Time for swimming & lazy afternoons!

River Clean Up at Scout Island

These seed pods are bad, when the river rises these will drop & new plants will grow.....I forget the name of the plant but it's something they don't want growing there because it takes over & makes it hard for the good plants to grow.
These plants are dangerous to mammals, so Aquarius Aquarium Institute sponsored a river clean up and had local 5th graders from all over the valley come and clean up! The kids had to carefully pull off the seed pods, then pull up the plant....hard work for a good cause.
We saw lots of interesting things on the floor of the San Joaquin River....the most interesting (to me) was the fresh water clams, they look just like the salt water clams but smaller.

Mia did her part while trying to stay clean at the same time...there is a lot of dirt on the river bottom! Mia managed to find a little plant with a few seed pods on it with out having to go too deep into the bush!!
Getting instructions on how to properly pull up the bad plants
Here come the kids !!!

The Charles Paddock Zoo

Sloths, Tigers & Meerkats Oh My!
The Charles Paddock Zoo
Atascadero California
This little zoo has an interesting mix of animals....tigers, pigs, goats, birds and
bird eating tarantulas...it's part zoo & part farm!

These little meerkats kept following Mia, they were quite interested in her.

Pretty bird

This goat looks just like our dog Puggy.
(We always tell Puggy that her mama was a goat!)
I love the flamingos...especially their color!
Twins !

Morro Bay & Pismo Beach

This is why I don't want to live by the ocean, I used too....but with Mia having no fear of the water, I'm too afraid she will want to surf when she's older and surfers look like seals, and seals are great white sharks' favorite food.....so, we will stay where we are safe & sound on dry land.

OK...After a very busy month, we did finally make it back to the beach!

My great aunt & uncle were with us and we had a wonderful time.

We stayed at a new place in Pismo Beach, The Cottage Inn by the Sea.....we loved it & it was PERFECT with views of the entire pacific ocean....well, it felt like it!

I have been coming to Morro Bay for about 30 years....it's so relaxing and peaceful. One of our favorite things to do is feed the seals down on the Embarcadero, (and shop!)

We also like to visit the salt water taffy shop & we never miss the shell shop either, however...we just buy the sea glass because we don't want to support the harvesting of sea creatures for their shells.

I took 317 pictures, I know....that's a lot of pictures. Don't worry, I didn't post all of them...but here are a few!

(Click on pictures to enlarge) Mia playing on the beach....one of her most favorite things to do in the whole wide world!
