My good friend & I took the kids up to the
snow at Shaver Lake today. It was beautiful & sunny and
we found a perfect spot to go sledding. The kids had a fun time
and everybody got a chance to go down the hill, including me.
I learned something today.
You have to steer the sled.
I was unaware of this.
I watched them all start at the top and come
sliding down & stop right at the same spot.
So when it was my turn, naturally
I thought all you do is get on
and the sled will take you right to that spot.
That did not happen.
I flew down the hill at lighting speed right past
that spot and crashed into a very hard metal gate.
I may have cracked a rib.
.
They asked "Why didn't you jump off ?"
Well.. first of all, the stupid disk I was sitting
in was small & I had my legs crossed and
could not really move.
And 2nd
The damn thing turned & I ended up sliding
backwards all the way down the hill.
And 3rd...
Since I was backwards, I realized too late that I had passed the
spot where they all had come softly to a stop...then I crashed.
.
The outdoors & I don't really get along.
