Mia & I

took a little trip

to the beach...

the pictures are in reverse order

.

Morro Dunes, where my grandparents took me

many times when I was Mia's age.

Mia and her kite...

Mia took this close up of the kite while I was flying it..

Look! She's taller than Morro Rock!

Can you see the kite?
She was excited because the kite was as high as it could go.
Then I had to wind the entire length back for her.

Running with the kite

houses on a hill

time to hit the sand...

not the waves..

you know there are sharks in those waters!

Uncle Vern tried to get Mia to go for a Kayak

ride..but she was having none of it! pretty pink flowers

Mia took this...great shot Mia!

With my camera still in Mia's hands....we posed for a picture..

Cleo, Vern, Jan & Alexandria

After a very long day of shopping & eating cake...
the princess falls asleep.

And so it starts....
She's at my desk
on my computer
talking on her cell phone
that's plugged in because she talked for so long
the battery went dead.
Six months ago she hated it when I would
curl up with a new book & read for a few hours.
Now, she asks...
"Don't you want to get started on
your new book....it sure looks good."

40 is just a number

Turning 40 was quite enjoyable....
flowers, presents, shopping, lunch and tons of
e-mails, cards, calls and facebook wishes to last a whole year!
And CAKE of course...it's not a birthday unless there's cake!

Lucy thought she could make it...

..she was wrong.

Ellie Bean likes the new

Happy 55th Disneyland

7.14.2010

Remember Pumbaa from The Lion King?
Three real life Pumbaas were born July 1.
In the wild, warthogs face challenges related
to habitat destruction. Counting the new piglets, there
are now four male and two female warthogs
at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
The baby warthogs, which are currently
in their backstage home, should be out on the
Kilimanjaro Safaris Savannah
with their mom in several weeks.

I look forward to this day......if we last that long.
action shots.....Lucy crashed right into me
after the flash went off...
swimming at night with the
pool light on is more exciting than plain old
day time swimming.

welcome to the "dog blog"
Ellie: "Mom is going to take our picture...smile Lucy."
Lucy: "what. I need to lick my nose.""Mr. Moose is coming with ME!"

Frisky Chihuahua

See, we can share...but this half is mine!

Ellie keeps putting her ears like Lucy.

7.09.2010

Lucy went for a float in the pool
she is very good at floating
but she got bored so I helped her off
then she hid
just in case I thought about
putting her back in

checking to see if the coast is clear

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!

7.02.2010

Summer is in full swing!
We are keeping busy with
scrapbooking, swimming, making
button stuff & other crafts too,
watching movies, playing with
our puppies & sleeping in...till 7:00!
And...
just so Mia's brain does not turn to mush
over the long break..
she is required to read one chapter
(about 20 pages)
before she can swim each day.
