Disneyland for Mia's 9th Birthday

DISNEYLAND

We spend Mia’s birthday each year at Disneyland
and for the past two years we have been joined
by our good friends, Karl, Sharon & Lexie.
We were a bit worried about the crowds this year, we usually
only go during the slowest time of the week, but Mia’s
birthday fell on a Friday this year so we had no choice.
We always get up really early and get on the road to beat
the traffic & get to the park when it opens…we arrived in Anaheim
and got checked into the Paradise Pier and headed into the parks.
Lexie and her mom & dad were about 45 minutes behind us, so we
got to go on a few rides before meeting up with them
on Main Street. The weather was in the low 80’s…a bit warm
for Jason but still very nice. The crowds were very low….as you
can tell from the pictures..it makes for such a great trip
when there are no lines!

We went on just about every ride in the place and our favorites
a few times :) On the first day we went to see one of Mia’s
favorite places, Innoventions…it’s where the future of technology is
available to play with and explore. The new Dream Home was
very cool, Mia and Lexie got to play pirates during the

story of Peter Pan in an interactive room!
We celebrated Mia’s birthday dinner at the ESPN Zone
and they wished her Happy Birthday on the big marquee
out front so that all of Downtown Disney could see!
We were lucky enough to win Dream FastPasses on
her birthday which made it even more fun & even
though we really did not need them (since there were no lines) they
did come in handy later on Friday night when all the locals
showed up! On Sunday we got to go on the new
Toy Story Midway Mania ride in California Adventure
and it is AWESOME!! It’s one of the few rides that I will
wait in a line for…lucky for us we only had to wait for about 15 min
(the usual wait time is 4 to 5 hours)

….and it’s well worth it, the short wait that is!!
It’s a target game & fast moving spinning ride all in one.

It's hard to explain but really really fun!

We could not leave with out seeing
one of our favorite shows..Billy Hill & the Hillbillies
at the Golden Horseshoe Review….fun music
and better food than most places in the park...sounds good to us:)

Once the girls spotted each other...they were
hand in hand almost the whole rest of the time

They were filming the parks

(they do this when the crowds are low...they don't

want promos with tons of people in them, normally

Disneyland is a no fly zone)
